Analyzing an argument.

Jameson Swan. ( October 28, 2010). Baseball is no longer America's pastime. Daily Titan.

The article is about the value of baseball in American life today. the author of the article tries to show that people are more uniterested in going to the stadium to wacth baseball game. He claims for reason: the spectators cannot afoord the rising price of tickects (form $27 in 2007 to $44.68 recently in the LA Dolgers stadium), parking and others assets. In addition the desappointment caused by athletes who take drugs is the second reason that keep away some fans. the author uses statistics to show the comparison between the former years and the recent season. The premise is people wach their game at home. The argument is that the price is encreasing, and athletes are desappointing. conclusion baseball is losing its popularity. This argument is true.

Hall, J(2010). "HOW TO SPEAK AMERICAN.". Newsweek 156, Retrieved from Academic search Premier database.

The article is about the diversity of english in the U.S. The author's experience as chief editor of dictionary of American Regional English has taught him that regional english still persists. Human creativity, immigrants, and local dialects impact on english. This article may give me the motivation to reseach english dialects in the USA. Also establish the differeence between the standard american english and dialects.

research paper

I have always been interested in studying languages.I am a bilingual student in english and french. i also studied spanish for a while. I always questioned myself about the fact that people speak one language around the world but differently, so i would like to know more about it. I will reseach the reason of regionalism; the geographical effect on language. My first qestion is: why the difference? how the diference is conceived, and how people assess the value of the variation of one language?
i have learn that all languages have the same value, but i sill notice that languages change, give birth to others, according to how people speak them, so i woul like to find out if one original language has the same value as those which result to his variation.

Advice

I have noticed that people who give advice a little more , are those who rarely follow others advice. I know tat it is not conventional wisdom, but almost all people i know behave like the same. Personally i am not against, contrarily , i listen evrytime from anyone. When i was younger i have a strong cofidence in my patents. i let them know everything i do, i ask them their opinin before i do an action. most of them were very helpful. What happened at the end is that they expected me to do what they want without considering my ambitions ,and it start to burden me. i am not a teenager anymore, i have to independantly take my decisions. i always listen to people opinion forn my best friend specially, but the bottom line is that it is about what i think.

The last time i recieved an advice about something very important to me was about my studies. After my graduation, all people wanted me study, or international affairs , but i didn't. I would like to study languages and become a translator or an interpretor, i also like communications. Honestly they tried to convince me and evrytime i felt persuaded; however my best friend was here to support me, and it helps me stand on my feet. she assures me that i have always been succful in class because of languages, she was my classmate all this time; my family and strangers have no idea what my potentials are, so it depend on me. i am studying languages and i am glad today.

American food

It may be easy for some countries to determine what is their traditional food. In America it doesn't seems to be the case. if i have to answer to this question i would give a list. First hamburgers, then hot dogs, taco bell, barbecue, among many others. Those are the names i think about a friend ask out to eat american. As you can see all of them are fast foods; the traditional sign is depicted in those foods. Americans do not like waisting time not even in cooking, time has a great value , since many people are involve in many activities that fast foods are the right thing to get, despite the fact that they are aware of the danger that result.America is the first country with the most people obese, without mentioning the consequences such as diabetes, heart deseases, and often death.
In my country the similarity with USA is that there are dizains of traditioonal foods , we cannot say what is the typical food in cameroon. answer wil differ from places to places, due to the diversity of cultures. However the difference is that we cook our food we don't eat too much fast food . our BMI is 23, so we spend a lot of time to make our foods. i still enjoy cooking my own food, heavy foods; i was glad to discover it is possible in the US.

Optimistic quote

This quotation describe a very common behavior people show in life. If we always see the worse in something , somebody, or a projrct we will never see the good in it, but if we behave contrarily positive things will happen because we make them happen, we work to that. In a relationship, if one patner see the other with pessimistic remarks, he will see his or her weakness , failures he or she makes on a daily basis and think that the relationship will never go on. However a person with good beliefs who is kind, who is looking for the goodness, the profit, will end up with it. A patner who behaves like this will find out the most interesting part of the other ,since everyone has one no matter what the evil they did.
I think optimism is the best state of mind we should have ;although, it is the more difficult. It direct our actions, life and happiness. Only knows that everything is possible in this world if we believe; even if we don't get the appropriate result, it is worth trying.

my friend

I have many freinds includung you guys, but i do have one only best friend. Her name is Therese. We have been classmates since 2005 in high school and went to the university at the same time. We share a lot of characteristics; for instance, we both have the same prefence of food. we are very picky and most of the time we keep eating the same kind of food for days without boring(rice, chicken and beens). We used to hang out together every weekend for shopping, beauty salon, or theater. We were always everywhere together and making fun. Honestly ,she is the one who most of time dragged me out of the house; because, i prefer staying home and have some fun more than hanging out. Although we seem to be two inseparable twins, we still have different habits too.
My friend likes love movies while i prefer horror movies, but she make me like love movies too. The only thing i don't like with her and that i cope with is that she talk too much, even when i need to concentrate on a homework, she cannot keep from talking. The thing i guess she hates from me is that i am not very patient, when i am not intersted in something i give up.

If animals could talk

It is always amazing when a dog or a cat or anu animal you are familiar with stars at you or move try to tells you something that you can't get. I wonder if it knows that i cannot understand him. I grow up with cat. I love cats and find them very calm abd smart. Cats and other animals hide a lot of goods even if we ignore them. I am very curious to discover some of them.
If animals could talk , i think the world change maybe better. Wit their developped sense they will be able to alert us about an oncoming catastrophe like earthquakes, and more. I also think that the would have more wrigths and would be able to defend themselveS. Humans would be scared of hunting them and eating meat again; because, they will be considered as humans. Consequently their will be restored for ever.
The set of questions i would like to ask them is like this: do you have proper names? do you believe in God too? what do you know about the creation of a man? since they were before the man, they might know more than we did. i would also like to know if our dear animals have the same tastes as we do about food and more. I would enjoy this time if only it could happen.

Bill Wethers: lean on me

Bill Wethers ''lean on me'' is my favorite. This one of my best songs i used to listen on a regular basis. I discovered it for the first time about 2 years ago back in my country. i never had the oppotunity to have the CD, it was occasionally broadcasted in the radio; but once i came to the USA i lhave listened to the song a million time in youtube and it is here that i have come to love this song more and learn to sing it.

Everytime i listen to that song i feel emotionallly moved, when i miss my family and all my friends so hard it helps me cool down. it reminds me every time somebody gave a hand in doing something. I truly recognise how much my parents and brothers cares about me, want me to succeed, and how much they need me. It reminds to work hard and succeed in order to satify them. It also compels me to help somebody in need, and i feel bad when i realise sometimes i failed to do it.

This is a great song. I love the melody, the voice, and the words are very strong. i feel very happy to nkow al those people around that i need and always tell me "you are not alone, call me if you need something''.

my favorite weather

I my country there 2 main seasons : the dry season which last from november to april, and the rainy season he rest of the year. the weather in general is not different from thaht in california: heat and rain, the difference is the duration. i don't like both seasons, what i like is a cool weather not toomuch cold not too much hot. in my country this time is the after rain. Here in california weather is the time very hot that i cannot take it. i think i will prefer the little cold time of the morning;because, it make me feel good that i cannot even feel hunger. Also i can sleep very well it is cold. i think that californis has the best weather in the USA.

my fear

Honestly i have many fears, but the thing that scares me the most is darkness. this is my major fear. when i was a child i always want to sleep with my parents until i had a sister to sleep together; only because night is a horrible moment for me. the moment i figure out darkness outside, i have all sort of horrilbe pictures in my mind. a lot of time i have nightmare during the sleep. That make me feel bad. I cannot afford standing in darkness alone even for 5 minutes. Back in my country i used to spend 1 or 2 nights alone when my parents travelled; these were the most horriblle moments of my life. I turn on all the lights of my house to be able to sleep. Peole think that the reason is that i wacth horror movies. Now to overcome that fear , first i decided to stop watching any movie showing death, violence , stuffs like that. I also used to sleep with light on in my room. I try sometimes to face a night without light but in the middle of the night i fail from doing it. i don't know how to do get rid of that fear.

how i get around

If i could have a super power i wish i could fly like a bird and reach any place at any moment. i just have this deeling since i am here. ; because, i always feel stucked. i want to say that it is reaaly difficult to move around in this country because i don't own a car and not able to drive. every time i have to go somewhere : shopping, school or party, i use the bus, or friends give me a ride. but the funny thing is that i catch every occasion to go out when one of my relative intends to go out. i can't wait the time i will get my driver license.
On the contrary there are many reasons i would give more credits to american transportation system than the one in Cameroon. Here roads are bigger and vehicles flow easily. It is easy to own a car, it is also easy to go anywhere, if we have the address and the direction; what is impossible to have in my country. Even the public transportation is helpful. With a bus one can go to any place even on a long distance, despite the long time we wait for it.
All will be fine as soon as i get my driver license . Actually i am getting prepared for the the written test. I hope some of you in my case will drive a car very soon!

astrange food i have eaten

Generally we meet srange foods when we move to a new place inside or outside our country.my greatest experience has happened in the USA, since it is my first host country.I have tried a lot of foods but fortunately all of then were not strange for me.I want to share my experiences not only my current exprience here but also my old one in my country.
First i want to introduce you to some strange foods i tried in my country that may sound also weird for you.The is one tribe in the west region of cameroon which is main dish called ''nkuwii ''it is a black and slide sauce with ''corn fufu''.what is interrstieng in that is the fact it is not easy to handle but upon in the mouth it is easy to swallow it .i hate it so far and never tried it again ; because it make me throat up.beside that, i also ate pithon when i was in mycoumpound.Honestly it took a lot of pressure from my family to get there; because it is a kind of thing that bring up nightmares and scary picture in mind.Defintely that was my worst experience over there.
secondly, since i move there the strangest food that i ate, is oysters.during my trip at las vegas on Valentine day i tried it in one french restaurant .apparently it is not appealing to me maybe to you too;however, the taste was not that bad ,but i still does not like its shape and the way you feel it in the mouth .the reason may be;because, i ate directly from its cover or something like that . Furthermore i have a long list of foods fruits and cakes that disgust me because most of them are very sweet for me.but i am geting along with a few yet:strawberry that i discover here.
to sump up ,we dislike some foods ;because, they are strange.but sometimes it worths trying them because the result may be surprising.there are neither best food nor bad food although we cannot like all of them.

if i was asked what part of my body i dislike i would answer without hesitation my feet.i have been always proud of my height,my weight ,every part except my feet.in fact they are bigger than normal;people say it fits with height, but i disagree with that statement beccause i think every can prevent himself from certain default like gainning weight larger feet.in my family made up of 5 people we all have this problem;i am the only daughter and i am quite sure that my junior brother of 16 age already fits more than i fit (11).Sometimes i feel like i don't care; because they are just undeneath my body, but there are some reasons some days i hate my feet .
I always feel angry when i go for shopping and i could not find the size convenient to me.When i was in country it took me like a whole day to find a pair of shoes,or even i needed to come one second or order shoes so that the next i could end up with something. It was always funny for the sellers who could not help teasing me;for example, proposing me some shoes for men;sneakers for instance.
The other negative effect of my feet was the high price of my shoes.wew all know that as the size raise ,the same price rise ,so i couldn't afford a lot stuff and the number of shoes i have is limited. How much i wish i could reduce my feet size and buy all kind of shoes i like ,be able to wear high heel shoes.
finally altougth my feet pose a lot of worries to me i know i could have skip that problem if i regularly wear closed shoes when i was a child, i didn't actually ;i can remenber the days my mother forced me to wear shoes i reaaly dislike;i prefered the open one. With that exprience i will try to prevent my children from this problem.

end of the story

Finally the young soldier opened the right door and found the most beautiful women.Suddenlyhis face shaped a big smile,he seemed very happy as well as the woman. It was a great moment for him .For the king it was normal since then he managed to prevent his daughter from a poor man;for the public any joy could not be compared that of being saved from death;but for the princess it was more than joy.Immediately she started regreting her action because she noticed that her love was now captured by another women so that he could not even look at her face.It was becoming so difficult, and she knew that she could not support that any longer;finallly to stop her existence. The soldier saw the princess running out crying and went behind her.The young princess runned trough the forest, and the young man kept following her steps to see what was wrong .At the end she found a string hung to a tree and decided to hang herself while crying. The man arrived just at the rigth moment and save the princess who was very angry of him and her father, the king.To calm her mood , revealed her that the most beautiful women in fact was her sister that the king ignored;because, rich people don't care about poor people. The girl felt very happy and accept to marry the soldier. At the end the king thanks the man to have saved his dauhgter, and the wedding was celebrated two week later.

What would i univent?

What would be the world without clock to show time?I would like to see that.Clock is an old invention with a great purpose to schedule live in the society;although, many countries do not share the same hour.In the past, when people were counted in few numbers and dealed with only a few and very simple activities, they didn't need to time up;but with the arrival of modernism and economics, people needed to organize the encrasing activities among the encreasing population. In short we need to time our various activities if we want our works done.

It has becoming so natural to check the time at the begining and at the end of each activity.Let us try to work without the clock,we will join our ancestors who peer the nature such as the position of the cloud,of the sun,the coacks of cock(in the country), the stars. For example when we wake up in the morning, at the sunrise,we prepare our breakfast and go to the office or school at the same time;for each activity we refer to sun position to follow up with the next one.At the evening all students and workers try to leave for home at same the same time except those who work in store who may continue until later at night when the moon reaches the midst.Similarly medias could try to adapt their programs to a natural timing as people come to and from home .The begining seems impossible ,but as we go on we will develop a natural set up of time psychologically.

Endeed it is impossible to control the world without clock.Or in this case, we should deal with a few number of people and limited amount of activities,if not the result will be a general disorder and unstisfaciton, waiste of money, time,in short a general frustration even for me.

my funny experience

Naturally my foot size is big,so i most often have dificulties to find my size in the store every time i need a new pair of shoes.rarely i cannot find it or i deal with an approximate size.the consequence is that my shoes cannot resist for long;othe rwise they get unstuck.my funny exprience happened at school.
IT was at the beginning the year 2008,i went to the campus to pay my school fees.A little after i got off the bus my shoes stuck off.i really felt bad ;i though to return home but i changed my mind because it was my fourth trial to pay my fees wihtout success.yet this time was the best since there was a few number of candidates on the quee.i really felt ugly as people looked at me but i was motivated by knowing that at last i could pay my fees. After 1 horrible hour i managed to do the payment and as soon i could get home.
At home my brothers laughed at me but it did not matter,i did my job. This kind of situation has sometimes been famliar to me.Now i am very careful when i am about to go outside and i do care of not overusing my shoes and it works.
